On Monday, 23 June 2025, Fanny Rivera Ortiz was officially conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from University College Dublin. The 11 a.m. ceremony in O’Reilly Hall at UCD blended classical music, an academic procession, and heartfelt moments.
This conferring ceremony marks a major milestone for Dr. Rivera Ortiz—one shaped by challenges, obstacles, achievements, and lessons that transformed her. Fanny extends her heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported her along the way, especially, her supervisor Dr. Liliana Pasquale, examiners Prof. Arosha Bandara and Dr. Anca Jurcut, the SPARE and SEAD research groups, and her family, boyfriend and friends.
