Minh represented UCD’s SPARE group in the Context Collection Competition hosted by JetBrains and Mistral AI! His solution, SpareCodeSearch, won 1st place 🥇 in the Kotlin track and 2nd place 🥈 in the Python track.
SpareCodeSearch builds on the existing keyword-search tool Zoekt to retrieve relevant code snippets from large repositories, using identifiers extracted from incomplete code files. The implementation is lightweight, runs smoothly on a local machine (no GPUs, vector databases, or semantic search required 💻), and can be integrated with code language models for automated code completion.
