Asif Wins Outstanding Poster Award!

Congratulations to Md Asif Iqbal Fahim, who won the outstanding poster award at the Research Poster Event held by the School of Computer Science on 30th January 2026!

Asif, a first-year PhD student supervised by Dr. Alessio Ferrari, presented his research on “Software Self-Extension with SelfEvolve: an Agentic Architecture for Runtime Code Generation.” His work addresses a critical gap in software evolution by enabling systems to autonomously generate and integrate new capabilities at runtime, directly from user needs expressed as natural language stories.

This research has been accepted for publication at SEAMS 2026 (the International Symposium on Software Engineering for Adaptive and Self-Managing Systems), co-located with ICSE 2026. The work demonstrates that systems can evolve their own capabilities during execution without developer intervention, achieving high success rates through test-driven development and dual adjudication mechanisms.
